Some common questions and answers

We are open to all food businesses! Whether you are an artisanal producer, a foodtruck, a caterer, or a restaurant, we have a place for you.

Yes, businesses looking to use the kitchen will need a MAPAQ permit, the Manager certification in Food Hygiene and Safety, and a Civil Liability insurance that meets The FoodRoom standards.

We are located at 55 Rue Louvain O, Montreal, an 8 minute walk from the Sauvé metro station, near Marché Central, in the Ahuntsic­-Cartierville borough.

The kitchen is open 24/7, upon reservation. You make your own schedule!

A minimum of 24 hours is required to reserve a space in the kitchen between 7 a.m. and midnight. For a booking overnight, we require a notice of minimum of 48 hours.

You are welcome to bring your own produce. Please note, however, that you will be responsible for receiving and handling it. We also have exclusive deals with food providers for the FoodRoom’s members.

Of course! For large or electric equipment, we’ll need to receive the equipment’s tech sheet beforehand. If you’d like to store your equipment in the kitchen for an extended period of time, locked storage is also available for renting. For small material, it is also possible to bring it. Do not forget to properly identify your equipment!

Our list of large equipment can be found on our Kitchen page. We have a reserve of small material, but we do not provide knives nor any disposable material (parchment paper, kitchen towels, bags, etc.).

All dishes and cooking spaces are thoroughly cleaned after each use by our own staff. We also ask our tenants to clean their space to ensure that there is no risk of cross-­contamination. However, because of the diversity of productions, we can’t guarantee any certifications (gluten-free, allergen-free, etc.).

Our rates vary according to your needs in terms of hours, needed storage and term of the contract. All the packages, as well as including the hours of kitchen time, also include access to the coworking facility (to be ready in Summer 2017), reserved storage space, and deals with food and kitchen accessories providers.
